How to make Strawberry Cheesecake Dump Cake:
The first step to making this super easy dessert is adding pie filling and the fresh strawberries to a 9x13 inch baking dish. Adding in the fresh berries breaks up some of the sweetness of the filling and adds more volume to your filling as well. I also like to fold fresh berries into the pie filling.
If you have a hard time finding strawberry pie filling, super Walmart usually has it. For some reason our grocery store only carries cherry filling (which is also great in this recipe) but Walmart has the strawberry.

After adding in the strawberries, it's time to make the cheesecake filling. It's a simple mixture of cream cheese, egg, vanilla, and sugar. If your cream cheese isn't soft, you can just pop it in the microwave for 30-45 seconds. Once it's softened, you can use a hand mixer to blend everything together.
Once the cheesecake mixture is blended, you can pour or spoon it over the strawberries. It doesn't need to be perfect but just try to make it as even as possible.

Finally the last part...the cake mix and the butter! This step is what makes this a dump cake! You just dump the vanilla cake mix over the top of the baking dish. No need to mix anything in. After adding the cake mix, use a spatula to spread it around so it's evenly covering the dish.

Then, last but not least, you'll pour the melted butter over the top of the cake mix. No need to mix!

The cake will go right into the preheated oven for about 45 minutes and come out with a beautifully crispy and golden crust and bubbly strawberry filling! You might see just a few powdery spots from the cake mix but it's completely fine and cooked so no need to worry about it...as a matter of fact, those are my favorite little bits!

Does Strawberry Cheesecake dump cake need to be refrigerated?
Yes, because this cake contains, egg, cheese, and fruit, it does need to go in the fridge once cooled. Just keep it in an airtight container for about 5 days.

- 2 cups fresh sliced strawberries (about 1 pint)
- 8 ounces cream cheese (softened)
- 1 large egg
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- ¼ cup white sugar
- 1 (15.25 ounce) box vanilla cake mix
- 12 tablespoon melted, salted butter
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°
- Pour the 2 cans of pie filling into a 9x13 inch baking dish.
- Fold in the fresh strawberries.
- In a separate bowl, use a hand mixer to mix together the cream cheese, sugar, egg, and vanilla. Once smooth, pour or spoon the mixture over berries in the baking dish. Spread as much as possible but it's ok if it's not perfect.
- Sprinkle the entire box of cake mix over the cream cheese mixture in the dish.
- Pour the melted butter over the cake mix. It won't cover everything but it will spread in the oven.
- Bake in the oven, uncovered for about 45-50 minutes or until the top is golden brown.
- Allow to cool about 10-15 minutes before serving. We like to serve this with a scoop of vanilla ice cream or whipped cream!
