These Cuban Bocadito Sandwiches are an authentic Cuban appetizer and one of my favorite snacks at family gatherings! They're made with savory ham and pimento filling sandwiched between soft rolls and they are sure to disappear quickly!

Cuban bocaditos

What are Cuban bocadito sandwiches made of?

Cuban bocaditos are primarily made of ham, and pimentos. They also contain cream cheese and mayonnaise for extra creaminess. This is such a simple recipe but the ingredients all pack a big punch of flavor.

How to make Cuban Bocaditos:

The first step in making bocaditos is to add all of the ingredients (except the bread) to a food processor or a blender. You'll want to blend everything until it's nice and smooth. You may need to scrape down the sides a few times and keep blending until you see no more large ham pieces.

This recipe is such actually a great make-ahead appetizer. You can prep the ham mixture the night before and just fill the sandwiches when you're ready to serve.

Once your filling is prepared, cover and place it in the fridge for at least 1 hour or you can refrigerate over night if you're making these a day ahead. You just want the filling to firm up a bit and not be runny in your sandwiches.

When you're ready to make the bocadito sandwiches, you just slice your bread (if it's not pre-sliced) and add about 2-3 tablespoons of filling to each sandwich. When you close the sandwich, do not press down or the filling will ooze out. Just gently place the top on.

What a fun idea! I recently had a sandwich with a pimento type filling, and it was very good. I could omit the ham for the vegetarians in the family. Sounds delicious, and I love those little rolls. A nice and easy idea for an appetizer!

This recipe yelled more than I can eat and I'm wondering if I can freeze half of it so it doesn't go to waste.
