fresh or frozen blueberries
(divided)

lemon zest

lemon juice

vanila extract
Instructions
Add 1 cup of blueberries, water, sugar, lemon zest, lemon juice, and vanilla extract to a small saucepan.
Cook over medium heat while stirring for 10 minutes.
After the 10 minutes, add in the remaining blueberries and stir. Cook for an additional 5-7 minutes. The sauce should be thickened.
Remove from heat and allow to cool for a few minutes before serving warm.
Store in the fridge in an airtight container for up to a week.
