2bottlesGround cinnamon (2.37 oz. each)(this comes out to about 1 and ¼ cup)
¾cupapplesauce
parchment or wax paper
cookie cutters
a drinking straw
ribbon for hanging
assorted paints for decorating(optional)
Instructions
Preheat your oven to 200 degrees
Mix the cinnamon and applesauce in a bowl and combine together until a dough forms. (I like to squeeze it in my hand to make sure it comes together nicely)
Place the dough between 2 sheets or parchment or wax paper and roll until the dough is about ¼ inch thick.
Use your cookie cutters to cut out desired shape then lay the shapes on a cookie sheet lined with parchment paper.
Use the straw to poke a hole in the top of each ornament.
Bake at 200 degrees for 2.5 hours.
Let cool then you can decorate (I actually like to use glitter glue!) then hang with ribbon.
Notes
I think this is probably obvious but these ornaments are NOT for eating. I guess technically you could eat them...but they would taste disgusting and I don't recommend doing that. :)
